Batman V Superman!

Last Thursday night, the BME and ASTE department senators, Yuta Ando and Roderic Vanderscoff (another Viterbi Pulse blogger!), organized a VGSA event for 40 students to go see Batman V Superman at LA Live. We were among the first audiences to watch it since it was officially released on Friday. With all of the hype surrounding the movie, I’m surprised Yuta and Roderic were able to pull off such a cool event. Everything was fully funded, and they were able to get us some pretty decent spots. It was awesome mingling with the astro students – I wish we had more chances to mix with other departments.

The movie itself was a little bit disappointing, especially because this movie was supposed to set up the entire DC universe and be THE response to the Marvel movies. The entire storyline was unconvincing, and the only real standout part was Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Ever since the third Ironman movie, I have been getting tired of superhero films. This movie definitely made me lose even more faith in them. Guardians of the Galaxy revived my interest two years ago – hopefully the new X-men Apocalypse will do the same. Even though Batman V Superman didn’t live up to its expectations, I still had a great time with my BMEs and the ASTEs!
