Family Trip to Universal Studios!

February 19, 2020

Take advantage of your student status to get discounts for arts and entertainment options in LA! A couple of weekends ago, I used my USC student card to purchase Universal Studios tickets for my entire extended family. Saving $45 per ticket, I was able to introduce the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to my aunts and uncles who hadn’t visited for over 20 years.

Because we went on a random Sunday in February, there was barely a crowd and lines were extremely short. The longest we had to wait was 15 minutes for a show! It got a little rainy and cold later in the afternoon, but that also made wait times shorter for the more popular rides – The Mummy and Jurassic World.

It was really fun exploring the park with my family. We kept it really casual, but still did pretty much everything there was to do. For anyone who’s a huge Harry Potter fan, I recommend spending lots of time exploring the intricate details of that section of the park. Every window display and poster has Easter eggs for fans! Also, the Three Broomsticks is a wonderful restaurant for lunch.

If you’re a student in the California area, be sure to head to universalstudioshollywood.com/college to see your discounts! Have fun!!
