Last weekend, my aunt, mom, and I went to Brick Fest Live at their stop in Pasadena! As a huge Lego fan growing up, I recently got back into playing with them when I completed my undergrad a year and a half ago. For my graduation presents, I got the Batman Tumbler, a Star Wars Red Five X-Wing Starfighter, and a Volkswagen T1 Camper Van! I built them throughout the following summer and now they’re displayed proudly around my apartment. When my aunt saw tickets to this expo on Groupon, she snagged some without a second thought. I couldn’t have asked for a better surprise gift!
At the Pasadena Convention Center, many vendors that sold collectable and unique Lego products came together and interacted with hundreds of Lego fans, kids and adults alike! Many booths sold individual minifigures, which were priced anywhere from $1 to $90 for the more rare ones, but a few had custom figures and items. Because I am also a huge fan of Halo, I also got a pair of Lego minifigures that were outfitted in custom Mjolnir armor and detailed assault weapons. Between the three of us, we got 3 minifigures each! I think I also found my next big set – the Milano Spaceship from Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I think it will be a nice addition to what I already have!
