Limited Status Enrollment Process

Raytheon Technologies employees are able to enroll in their first class after receiving approval for Limited Status. Limited Status students must meet the necessary background requirements to receive approval: Detailed information and FAQ for DEN@Viterbi Limited Students

Qualified candidates for Limited student enrollment must have a BS degree in engineering or a closely related field (such as mathematics or science) from a regionally-accredited institution, with a cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

The certificate option in Astronautical Engineering also requires previous coursework in physics.

If you are pursuing a Raytheon Technologies Professional Certificate, please be sure to complete the following:

1. Complete the DEN@Viterbi Limited Status Profile Form
2. On the form, for the question, 'What is your intended major?', select an option under the section for: 'Raytheon Technologies Professional Certificate'

Two professional certificate programs are available for Raytheon Technologies employees.

Please note, to pursue either professional certificate option, you must be approved as a Limited Status student.

Raytheon Technologies Professional Certificate in Astronautical Engineering

• ASTE 520: Spacecraft System Design
• ASTE 535: Spacecraft Environments and Spacecraft Interactions
• ASTE 580: Orbital Mechanics I

Raytheon Technologies Professional Certificate in Systems Architecting & Engineering

• SAE 541: Systems Engineering Theory & Practice
• SAE 542: Advanced Topics in Systems Engineering
• SAE 547: Model-Based Systems Architecting & Engineering

Additional Details: 

• To receive the professional certificate in either discipline, all three (3) courses must be completed with a 'B' or better.
• Course Descriptions can be found in the USC Course Catalogue.
• Courses for the upcoming term are listed in the USC Schedule of Classes and have a 'DEN@Viterbi' section listed.

Raytheon Technologies students who complete the required courses for their chosen professional certificate program with a 3.0 or better can receive a professional certificate of completion.

• Raytheon Technologies Professional Certificate in Astronautical Engineering: ASTE 520, ASTE 535, and ASTE 580
• Raytheon Technologies Professional Certificate in Systems Architecting & Engineering: SAE 541, SAE 542, and SAE 547

Students must complete the Raytheon Technologies – Professional Certificate of Completion Request Form once your final course is completed to request a hard copy certificate.
