Over the weekend, my family went to Las Vegas, Nevada for my mom’s birthday and to visit a trade show that my uncle’s company, The MDB Family, is exhibiting at. During the day while my mom was helping with booth set-up, my dad, brother, and I were free to explore the city, gamble, and visit various attractions. On Friday, we went to the New York, New York and Caeser’s Palace casinos, as well as the pawnshop featured on the HISTORY channel show, Pawn Stars. Although none of the “pawn stars” were there, we were still able to peruse their antiques and valuables, and appreciate their collection of championship rings.
On Saturday, we ate a delicious lunch at Shake Shack (yes, there’s one in Vegas!) and headed to the old part of town to watch The Book of Mormon. I had heard so much about this show from friends and online reviews that I wanted to watch it, but I missed all of my opportunities to do so while it was playing in Los Angeles. Thankfully, we were able to purchase seats at the last minute at the Smith Center. It was unbelievably hilarious – it made even my dad cry with laughter! I highly recommend that everyone see this show, even if it means making the trip to Las Vegas!
