Asian Pacific Comedy Night

November 14, 2018

Earlier this month, the USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association and the USC Asian Pacific Cinema Association co-hosted the first ever Asian Pacific Comedy Night at a local theater near campus. Largely attended by members of these two organizations, this event featured a whole line-up of acts that were centered around stand-up and comedy.

The first was the extremely popular group – Asian AF. If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s a comedy variety show started through United Citizens Brigade (UCB) featuring the best Asian American talent from both Los Angeles and New York. Combining improve, sketch, stand-up, and music, Asian AF highlights themes and stories from an Asian American experience.

Following that incredible show were two more acts – one USC student comedian and a music-comedy performer with experience in Broadway. It was so fun enjoying these acts with everyone. I brought some of my labmates and my roommate from my internship the summer before I started grad school. I’m so glad we were able to reconnect and laugh together!
