Laguna Beach

December 14, 2016

A quaint, not-so-hidden gem of a beach, Laguna Beach is the perfect weekend destination. I had the chance to visit when I went to Irvine one weekend this semester.

Though the Main Beach area is rather small and rocky, it has tidepools, beach volleyball courts and a promenade. Laguna Beach also has many quaint, one-of-a-kind shops dotting the beach selling ice cream, clothes, arts and crafts and many other random things. It is also known for its art and theatre – it has a monthly Art Walk similar to the downtown LA Art Walk that attracts artists locally and from all over the surrounding areas.

Perhaps the best part was seeing a seagull tanning on a towel on the sand, perfectly content with her world.

There are other beaches that form the Laguna Beach coastline that I have yet to explore. A free Laguna Beach city shuttle provides service from Main Beach to other beaches in the area but I didn’t have time to take it. I highly recommend spending a whole day in the area!
