Welcome to spring semester 2017! Spring has always been the busier semester for me, but you know the old saying “the more you do, the more you can do.” That must be why the USC-wide Spring Involvement Fair happened today, why VGSA applications are out, and why the Viterbi-wide Involvement Fair is happening next week (I’ll post on that soon too).
More importantly, the Viterbi Graduate Student Association’s Senator Applications are out now and due this Friday! Being a senator in VGSA helps:
- develop your leadership skills
- makes you part of the Viterbi graduate community
- you organize events you and your classmates are interested in
- gives you a chance to fulfill your civic duty as a student
If none of those sound good to you (I’m disappointed), then the cliché’d reason is still true – it’s a resume builder. If there are things you want to improve about your department or Viterbi as a whole, get involved and make that change happen! It’s only a semester long commitment so first year and second year students can do it.
