Last year my friend and I got this amazing chance to watch the Ellen’s show (standby tickets) but then we were promised for tickets to watch the show live! This finally happened!! We got to watch the entire show live, first off the audience were pumped up by the music and dancing before Ellen actually entered the scene. Of course, every single person was holding their breaths to watch her majesty LIVE. Then it finally happened, she came onto the stage and took our breaths away, I don’t know how else to explain her presence, it was like she had an aura around her; Her vibrant energy and just her being there made everyone smile.
The guests that day happened to be: Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez (U.S. women’s gymnastics team) and comedian Howie Mandel (host of the NBC game show Deal or No Deal). Laurie was so bubbly, full of fun and was as star struck as we were to be present on Ellen’s set. She spoke about her training, her desire to date 😉 and well her winning Dancing with the stars (Wow, the kid sure is talented!). Howie Mandel came down to promote his new show, also recounting the fact that he has appeared numerous times on the show and got emotional about it. He also recounted his comedic moments with Madonna and also a funny story about his wife (Spoiler: it made him “hormonal”).
The fun games part also included her randomly picking and calling upon various guests in the crowd. Specifically, for a new game to win a free pass to the People’s choice awards where both the participants had to complete a series of tasks [get a card from a person born in January, get a breath mint, etc.] and whoever would do this first won. Eventually, Ellen’s generosity got to the better of her and she gave both of them passes!!
All in all, it was a great experience which everyone must experience at least once. We came out with the show tired but with a grin on our faces!
