Every Fourth of July, San Marino hosts its own fireworks show and celebration at Lacy Park, a 30-acre piece of land that was originally Wilson Lake. Throughout the day, there are food booths, special zones for activities, live bands, and local sports team recognitions. They also hold a community parade featuring the city council members, club members, law enforcement, the fire department, assemblymen, and antique cars. This year, my dad drove our convertible in the show and we cheered for him from the sides!

This year, four of my closest friends were able to join us for the celebration! We spent the afternoon playing Settlers of Catan (my first time!) and munching on snacks and hot dogs. The fireworks were spectacular as always – they lasted for about 20 minutes and were matched to a great soundtrack. I have been going to this almost every year since I was a baby, and will keep doing so if I’m in LA. Hope every had a great July 4th weekend!
