Ground Zero to Fertitta Hall

Typically, I use the afternoon slump as an excuse to soothe my sweet tooth by getting ice cream at Ground Zero before embarking on the ‘PhD walk’ back to the lab.  For those who are not familiar with the ‘PhD walk’ it is when a student wanders campus with a blank stare, trying very little to avoid the rush of cyclists, all while hoping deep down for their research questions be magically answered.  In the absence of magic, however, I have found two things to be particularly helpful: going outdoors, and sugar!  Today I wandered into the newly constructed Fertitta Hall, which is an amazing building with unique views of campus from the top floors.  I have a feeling I’ll be making pit stops in Fertitta on my future PhD walks.
