The Last Bookstore – A dream!

Dreams do come true! I have been called a bookworm ever since I remember, but who cares about labels when you can get lost in the imaginary world and experience worlds and characters not everyone is privy to. A book is a wonderful portal that way and it has been transporting me to the past and swinging me to the future all with ease. Whether it be a Jane Austen novel, a Charles Dickens, Andy Weir, J.K Rowling, Khaled Hosseini and oh the list goes on and on! I have truly fallen in love, cried and celebrated with every character that I’m introduced to. I feel that a book always leaves a part of itself with you. I have over a 1000 books at home that I wake up to and when I started graduate school I couldn’t carry them all.

One day, I decided that I really wanted to experience a hard bound rather than my ebooks and started looking up places nearby. This is where I got lucky! I came across the most amazing place – The Last Bookstore. “The name was chosen with irony, but seems more appropriate with each passing day as physical bookstores die out like dinosaurs” it is said on the website and I truly believe that. It’s a true paradise for any book-lover. You name the book and you will find it here, a two-storeyed building literally built with books stacked up high and low. The register is a table with a wooden top and books as its foundation. You have an archway made of books, a photobooth kind of setting made with it and much much more. If you look closely you will find a few first editions as well for cheap!

I finally purchased Farenheit 451 (the book I’ve been searching forever for now!), Heidi (childhood classic), 1968 and well again the list goes on! Happiest day ever!! Do believe me when I say that an entire day won’t suffice if you want to hunt!
