More Than Rays and Shells

The rhyme goes; she sells seashells by the sea shore…well that connects back to my friend’s desire to celebrate her birthday by the ocean. We decided to explore Santa Monica pier and it was one of the best decisions we made that day.

Santa Monica beach captivates you while walking on the pier. In the evening, when the sun was just about to set the sky was just so breathtaking, that a picture wouldn’t do it any justice. It was just one of those views you had to witness in person.

Along the pier we saw art being created. You could get anything written and framed, and each of the symbols used symbolized something along the lines of love, and health. There were dreamcatchers, souvenirs, hats, shades, and many more things to buy along the pier and while the tourist in me wanted to shop after buying the rainbow written frame art I decided not to.

The day had a perfect end when we walked inside an Italian restaurant called “Bucca de bepo” which had delicious huge portions, and the ambience was eccentric. After a long day and an adventurous trip on the metro, we ended the day with some ice-cream cake.
