It was a long week, with everyone busy preparing for the career fair and industry networking events. Once the weekend arrived, I breathed a sigh of relief. I could finally unwind and enjoy the lovely weather.
Since the semester started, we all got busy with classes and applying for jobs/internships so didn’t get a chance to go out or have fun. So, we finally decided to go out for a movie and have a relaxed outing. We went for a Bollywood movie, Raees, starring Shahrukh Khan, Bollywood’s no. 1 actor and my all-time favorite. 😛
The movie is set in the 1980’s-1990’s in Gujarat, a state in India, which even today bans the sale and consumption of alcohol. However, illicit sale of alcohol by smuggling is still prevalent. Raees is a fictitious story of a man who with his daring attitude builds an alcohol empire and rises to become the most powerful man in the state. He believed and followed one thing that his mother said – “Koi dhanda chhota ya bada nahi hota aur dhande se bada koi dharm nahi hota.” (Translation – No business is small or big and no religion is greater than any business) This is one of the most famous dialogues from the movie. Shahrukh Khan along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays the no-nonsense cop in the movie, have acted incredibly well.
Raees was an entertaining movie and we enjoyed it a lot. An evening well spent. 🙂
Another movie of Shahrukh Khan that I would recommend is – Dear Zindagi. He mesmerizes everyone with his charisma. An extremely wonderful movie that will make you fall in love with your life.
