Pen is mightier while unearthing one’s thoughts!

So you guys must be wondering, why such an intense headline? I’ve always been patted on my back by my middle school teacher who seemed to think I was a great writer; as a teenager I thought I had a true shot at this but well life takes over and you do make practical choices. I thought Math was horrible but I grew to love the subject in high school, I read this headline somewhere which said “Don’t do what you are good at, do what you love”.

This is when I realized the path that life forges for you. I may be good at writing but I really do love Mathematics, puzzles and data which has led me to take up Data Informatics as a specialization in grad school; through the entire process I realized the magic that unfolded when you choose to learn something out of desire to consume knowledge and simple curiosity. Even though all of us complain about the ever growing assignments, classes, difficulty levels that are going up never to come down – deep down we continue to go ahead as this is something that challenges us, motivates us to become better and helps us grow not only academically but personally on when to switch on your best and when to withdraw.

Believe me I didn’t discover all this, until I myself put everything down on paper (well, the computer screen) but the wonderful hobbies that let you grow , don’t let them go. I’m sure sometime in the next 5 years, I would be in a small village in Europe studying a literature course, back to being a student,  just to quench the thirst of curiosity, the same which has brought me to USC and this one decision somehow I will never regret!
