A truly great initiative by USC – The International Education Week was something that I read about in the newsletter that I avidly follow. Also, my amazing friend Tanushree who was covering the event wanted me to drop by and check it out! This event was held at VKC on Monday starting at 12:00 in the afternoon. As I rushed from class, I discovered that near the Tommy Trojan statue (which is being protected btw :P) free Herbert’s lemonade and Sprinkler’s cupcakes were being handed out.

We rushed and grabbed a lemonade and took a quick selfie at the Sprinkler’s booth to grab our free cupcake. I picked a wonderful salted caramel and my friend picked out a dark chocolate, both of which were yummy obviously! Then ran towards VKC and boy! We saw people beautifully dressed in their ethnic wear from kimonos to traditional Indian wear it was a delight to witness.

Veg and Fish Sushi was being handed out along with free boba (milk ice tea with tapioca balls), apart from this there was also a Henna stand (a traditional design which adorns the hands and feet) and a raffle section where winners were being picked every 15 minutes! It was amazing to interact with people from different cultures and you could see that they were very excited to share a part of their culture and customs with you. I heard that it’s going to extend throughout the week with traditional performances to look forward to!
