For the past two weekends, the Viterbi Graduate Student Association (VGSA) organized and hosted a Viterbi-wide soccer tournament! Almost every engineering department had it’s own team, and over the course of four days, each of the 8 teams played at least three matches. Every game was played on Brittingham Field next to the new McKay Center, and they were all organized and refereed by other Viterbi students!

Yesterday morning, four teams competed in the semi-finals: Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mork Family (Chemical), and Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Although the BME team headed into these matches with the most points overall, they had a huge disadvantage because many of their players unfortunately didn’t show up. The championship game was ultimately between CS and AME, and CS took first place! They will be facing off against the Dean’s team in April, while AME gets to take on VGSA on the same day. Thanks everyone for playing!!
