For Father’s Day this year, my immediate family went to Nightshade, a unique Asian-influenced concept led by Top Chef winner Mei Lin. Located in the ever-upcoming Arts District, the converted warehouse space was incredibly aesthetically pleasing. We had tried their signature mapo tofu lasagna at my cousin’s house earlier in the year (for the Game of Thrones series finale party!) and absolutely loved it, so we decided to try the rest of their items in their actual space.
One of LA’s most talked-about new restaurants, Nightshade has received a number of accolades, including Food & Wine’s Best New Restaurants 2019, Robb Report’s 3rd Annual Best of the Best List, GQ’s Best New Restaurants in America 2019, and more. The menu highlights cross-cultural flavors, infusing modern plates with accents of Chinese comfort food. If you’re looking to have a real modern LA dining experience, I’d look no further. Make a reservation for Nightshade right away!
