Over the weekend, one of my best friends from Graduate Student Government threw his birthday party at XLanes in Little Tokyo. Although I grew up and went to school in Los Angeles, I had never actually visited this venue before! XLanes is basically a whole variety of entertainment folded into one space. There are separate areas for bowling, arcade games, billiards, karaoke, and eating/drinking. For larger groups, there are event special VIP areas with private lanes!
Because we were a larger group, we bowled in one of the private areas with four lanes. A spread of snacks was laid across the back, and people just headed outside to the bar for drinks. Some of us even got arcade cards that enabled play for one hour! Although we were limited to certain machines (basically only games with no reward/tickets), it was still really fun to walk around and try new games without paying every time. XLanes is certainly a great place to hang out with a group of friends. I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
