For the first trip of 2020, my entire family flew out to Aspen, Colorado for our annual Family Reunion. Just a few days into the new year, we were able to all come together for a week of skiing, relaxing, and goal setting. With some fresh snow on the slopes, I was able to ski for three straight days. I had a chance to work on my carving with my older cousins and even tackled a couple of runs with moguls on my last day!
In the evenings, we ate together as a family either at home or at one of the local restaurants. With all of my aunts being excellent chefs, we had plenty to eat during our long dinner conversations. This year, we spent a lot of time reflecting on 2019 and diving deep into each of our successes and failures. We discussed what we were all grateful for, as well as what we wanted to do better or accomplish in 2020.
Personally, I am aiming to plan an act of kindness for each of my family members and close friends during the year. I’m hoping to surprise them with something related to their love language, whether it’s a little note of affirmation or a thoughtful gift. We’ll see how I do at the end of the year!
