Weekend in Big Bear

March 18, 2020

Last weekend, I drove up to Big Bear with several friends and spent two days and nights soaking in the mountain views and hitting the slopes. We were able to find a gorgeous little cabin that fit all eight of us comfortably high up in the woods. With two porches and a big living room, this Airbnb was the perfect place for all of us to retreat to and relax.

The same group of us had gone to Mammoth last year, but with everyone’s busy schedules, Big Bear was the easier mountain to get to for a weekend trip. It took us only two hours to get to the cabin so most of our time was well spent hanging out indoors, cooking, playing board games, and skiing/snowboarding. What an easy little getaway for Angelenos.

Luckily for us, we were able to land $35 ski lift passes from a friend who wasn’t able to use them. That’s a huge discount from the regular $100+ day pass! For graduate students, that’s huge! I was glad to be able to ski one more time before the season ends.
