Fall 2021 Enrollment Options

Based on the current situation, the downward trend in COVID-19 cases and the positive vaccination rate, USC plans to be primarily on-campus for Fall 2021. However, this decision is contingent on the aforementioned trends continuing in a positive manner and pending approval from the state of California and Los Angeles county.  The Viterbi School of Engineering will offer alternate options for students who cannot attend classes in person on the USC campus.
Below are the options available to all of our newly admitted Fall 2021 students.

OPTION ONE

Attend as an on-campus student.

  • Submit financial documentation and passport copy (international students only)


  • Submit Statement of Intent and $500 commitment deposit


OPTION TWO

Enroll in 1-2 online classes in your home city.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: By taking the Fall 2021 semester online, the earliest you will be eligible for CPT is Spring 2023.


OPTION THREE

Update your application to Spring or Fall of 2022. Your admission application must undergo review again with no guarantee of the same admission decision.

In order to submit a request for updating to a future term, complete the required online form (link and details to the right).

IMPORTANT: Email requests will not be considered.

  • Complete and submit the Update to 2022 Form. (The deadline for submitting the update form for Spring 2022 is September 15, 2021. The deadline for submitting the update form for Fall 2022 is November 1, 2021.)


  • Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation that the request has been received

  • Update requests take up to five weeks to process. You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been updated

  • Once updated, your application will be reviewed along with all of the other applications received for the term to which you updated. You may need to submit updated academic transcripts and test scores. If you are an international student, you will need to submit new financial documentation

  • You will receive a new decision notification in your YouSC portal no later than the following dates:

    •       - Spring 2022: October 15, 2021
          - Fall 2022: April 1, 2022
