The Battle of Los Angeles!

For our last signature event for this semester, the Viterbi Graduate Student Association hosted a tailgate on our main campus for the USC vs. UCLA football game this year.  Because this is typically one of the biggest and most important match-ups of the season, some of the senators spent the night at McCarthy quad to reserve a prime location.  Although I didn’t take up the offer to cover this shift, I still brought them some warm snacks and played some football and soccer with them from midnight to 3am.  The actual event was a great success!  Many graduate students came out and I had the chance to meet a lot of new people while playing some of the games we set up.

Because both my brother and I were formerly in the marching band, we were able to snag some free tickets for ourselves as well as a few of our friends and family.  Thankfully, we were able to crush the Bruins after being outplayed the last three years.  Although this game wasn’t a 50-0, it still felt great to get the Victory Bell back.  My friends, family, and I will be going to San Francisco for the Pac 12 Championship game this coming Saturday, so we’re slowly getting pumped up to cheer on our boys.  This whole semester was filled with tumultuous events, but our team really showed us the true meaning of Fight On.  Let’s keep this momentum up and get to the Rose Bowl!!
