Globefest at McCarthy Quad

Last Friday, I was walking back home, very tired from a day of class and submissions, when I saw something happening at the McCarthy Quad. What caught my eye was someone dressed as Tommy Trojan over Traveler!

I walked over and found out that it was the Globefest, which is held annually at USC to celebrate international cultures. They had several activities like face painting, sand art, caricature, DIY flower crown, megawire game, petting zoo and therapy puppies. There were also people performing on a stage; some were dancing and some were singing. It was a fun evening.

My friend and I got our caricatures done and also made pretty little flower bracelets. For each activity, we earned stickers that we could exchange for food like cotton candy, milk tea with boba or fish and chips. They also had a raffle in which one could win a $20 Amazon gift card, Beats headphones or a portable charger. I entered my name in the raffle but as expected I did not win anything. 😛 I have never won a raffle till date.

Anyway, my most favorite part was being able to pet Traveler. Horses are my favorite animals and I am also very fond of horse riding. Thus, I was very excited to see Traveler.

Below is a photo of me and my friend, Nitya with Traveler!

These are the flower bracelets that we made –

This is us waiting in line to get our caricature done along with a picture of my caricature. It doesn’t exactly look like me but I like it.

All in all, we had a great time!
