For my brother’s last Spring Break, my family and I visited Vancouver, BC to see our godmother, my mom’s best friend. Although we had been to Canada several times before to explore Vancouver, Whistler, Montreal, and Toronto, it was still incredible to revisit this city and rediscover it in our twenties. A lot of time was spent driving around, enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms, and spending time with friends, but we also did some touristy activities. On our second day, we went to the Museum of Anthropology at UBC to learn more about native Canadians (First Nations), and on our fourth, we went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.

During our time there, we also tried many new restaurants and cuisines. Nearly every morning, we had traditional Chinese pastries or Jamaican patties for breakfast, and every afternoon, we went to happy hours around town to take advantage of their $1 oyster, or ‘buck-a-shuck’, deals. For our dinners, we had Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and Nepalese food. The variety of cultures in Vancouver is incredible – my tummy couldn’t have been happier. Now that break is over, it’s time to get back to work!!
