Corporate Dinner

Every year, the Associated Students of Biomedical Engineering (ASBME), the only club at USC for undergraduate BMEs, throws a corporate dinner during career fair week. Hosted at the Radisson, we take over one of the ballrooms and serve dinner for both undergraduate and graduate students and the industry representatives for free! Everything is fully funded through the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), the Graduate Student Government (GSG), Viterbi, the BME department, and more. Held from 7:30-11pm, this dinner connected students seeking internships and jobs to corporate recruiters in a more formal setting. Instead of sweating it out and standing in a giant line at the career fair, everyone gets to sit at a table and interact in a more natural way with company employees.

This year’s guest list included Edwards Lifesciences, Medtronic, Baxter, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Accenture, and a few others. Over 100 students attended and many were able to interact with more than three of the industry representatives individually. Hopefully some of them were able to get interviews or offers! This event could not have happened without the amazing executive board you see in these photos. These are some of the most hard working, intelligent, funny people you can meet at USC. I am thankful to still be a part of the board, even as a graduate student. Fight On!
